He’d be lying if he said the sight wasn’t slightly uncomfortable. His face and body were sweating but he felt extremely cold, so cold in fact that his teeth were beginning to chatter. Rolling on his back Coop felt his stomach twist and he made a face at the discomfort. Slowly, he kneeled beside Coop and patted his back as a silent request to face him for the first time that morning. Remer decided he shouldn’t trust his friend, if the smell of sweat and sick was anything to go by. ![]() Remer raised an eyebrow with skepticism written all over his face. “Nothing, man…” Coop mumbled against the floor, “I was just looking at the floor this morning and thought it looked pretty cozy.” Especially if at the end of this interaction it required Coop asking for Remer’s help. ![]() He’d hate to admit to being sick, it was way too out of character for him and slightly embarrassing. “Holy shit, dude-are you okay?” Remer chuckled a bit, “What happened?”Ĭoop managed to croak out a response, but he still didn’t face Remer. It’s a face that’s so incredibly Remer, that it makes him want to smile a bit at the thought. Coop was turned away from him, but he could already picture the look on Remer’s face: eyebrows furrowed, and his nose doing that funny scrunch whenever he’s concerned or concentrated. Remer shockingly heard the noise and he quietly knocked on the bathroom door, opening it then stopping in his tracks when he saw the sad, and arguably, pathetic sight on the floor. “Cooper? C’mon man, where the hell are you?”Ĭoop felt bad for him then, so he made a sound a bit like “mng” to get Remer’s attention. So he just curled in on himself a bit more, trying to will away the pain. Just the thought of any slight over exertion gave Coop goosebumps and almost made him retch. He figured Remer would find him eventually and then he could explain himself without having to shout. “Coop! Dude, are you still alive?” Remer called, cursing quietly as he tripped over something on the floor.Ĭooper didn’t respond. The faint sound of keys jingling was what made Coop finally open his eyes, and he stayed still as the front door opened and slammed shut. He’d give up Baseketball forever if it meant he’d never feel this bad again. Now, laying on the floor of his and Remer’s shared bathroom, all he could think about were the times when he wasn’t ill, and how much money he would pay to feel like that again. He had woken up with a sour stomach-which he assumed was just the cheese-balls and other junk food he decided to devour the night before-and he continued to assume that even as he was rushing to the bathroom to vomit what little remained in his stomach. ![]() ![]() The song was never a part of a studio album, but appeared in compilations.Coop felt horrible, which in his opinion was the understatement of the year. It spent 15 (!!) weeks at the top of the charts in Australia. It had a modest start in Sweden (in Swedish) before the English mega-hit version showed up. It was a love lyric, someone who loved Fernando, but I inherited the word ‘Fernando’ and I thought long and hard, what does Fernando tell me? I was in my summerhouse one starry evening and the words came, ‘There was something in the air that night’ and I thought of two old comrades from some guerrilla war in Mexico who would be sitting in the porch and reminiscing about what happened to them back then and this is what it is all about. That lyric is so banal and I didn’t like it. Ulvaeus recalled writing the song in the book 1000 UK #1 Hits: It was written by Benny Andersson, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Stig Anderson. Originally released as an Anni-Frid Lyngstad solo song in 1975, ABBA re-released this song in 1976 and eventually turned this into one of the best-selling songs of all time. There was something in the air that night The stars were bright, Fernando They were shining there for you and me For liberty, Fernando Though we never thought that we could lose There's no regret If I had to do the same again I would, my friend, Fernando If I had to do the same again I would, my friend, Fernando Now we're old and grey, Fernando Since many years I haven't seen a rifle in your hand Can you hear the drums, Fernando? Do you still recall the fateful night we crossed the Rio Grande? I can see it in your eyes, how proud you were to fight for freedom in this land There was something in the air that night The stars were bright, Fernando They were shining there for you and me For liberty, Fernando Though I never thought that we could lose There's no regret If I had to do the same again I would, my friend, Fernando There was something in the air that night The stars were bright, Fernando They were shining there for you and me For liberty, Fernando Though I never thought that we could lose There's no regret If I had to do the same again I would, my friend, Fernando Yes, if I had to do the same again I would, my friend, Fernando
